Chinanews, Mar. 9 C Some 70 Olympic landscape sculpture designs have
recently been selected among 386 works and put on a show in Beijing on
Wednesday.
The 386 works were chosen from all together 2,433 pieces that were
contributed by more than 1,000 architects from 80 countries and regions,
and were later evaluated by a panel of experts from home and abroad.
Among the 386 works, 277 of them were regarded as excellent works and 80%
of all works are original. Among all participants, architects from China,
the host country of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, showed their special
enthusiasm in taking part in the event.
Organizers will later make exhibits out of some 290 works. The exhibits
will be duplicated in three copies and put on show simultaneously in
three cities including Beijing. The show is part of a cruising exhibit
that will be held on a nationwide basis.
