www.chinanews.cn 2005-08-17 15:08:19
Tan Chengnian, a farmer of Kuiwen District of Shandong's Weifang City,
drove a plane made by himself and flew in the sky on August 16, 2005.
48-year-old Tan loved plane when he was a little child, but the first two
planes he made failed. Last year, he spent 35,000 yuan (US,315) in
learning how to drive a plane and obtained the certificate. Later he
started to make his third plane, which finally had a successful flight.
The flight height was between 150 to 180 meters, and the flight lasted 20
minutes.
