www.chinanews.cn 2005-08-18 14:43:45

Tourists gathered at the thousand-year-old dock reconstructed lately in
Chongqing's Fengjie County on Aug. 17, 2005. This ancient dock was first
built and put into use in the East Jin Dynasty (317-420). After an over
20 million yuan reconstruction project, it was put into operation again
for tourists at Baotaping in the county. The dock is designed to serve
800,000 tourists annually. The project preserves the thousand-stair dock
typical of east Sichuan and the thousand-year-old Yidou Gate, the best
preserved and most imposing ancient gate in Chongqing.
