Super cowhide raft took test float

On the afternoon of Aug.12th, a super cowhide raft able to carry 30
persons took a test float near Longyuan at the Yellow River's Lanzhou
section. Cowhide raft is a type of vehicle consisting of leather bags
made of cowhide and capable of floating. Before China's liberation, such
raft was the major vehicle in northwestern Yellow River regions. In order
to seek after Lanzhou's cowhide raft culture, 74-year-old Hu Kui of Hui
ethnic groups spent 10,000 yuan in producing a super cowhide raft capable
of carry three tons of cargo. This is the first time that cowhide raft
reappeared in Lanzhou after having vanished for a few decades.
