Hello Kitty turns 30

A sales clerk displays a Hello Kitty pendant studded with nine-carats of
numerous diamonds, a ruby ribbon, sapphire nose and onyx eyes, at Tokyo's
Mitsukoshi department store, 26 July 2005, which was sold for 50,000 US
dollars minutes after going on sale. An exhibition called 'Hide and Seek'
during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Japanese cartoon
character was held in Hong Kong August 17, 2005. The exhibition will open
to the public on Thursday.
