Rural pupils exempted from tuition fee

Rural pupils in Qifeng Primary School of Xiaoduchuan Residential
Committee in Hubei's Enshi City were lighted up with pleasure due to
their free schooling on Feb. 21st. In the new semester, Hubei's Enshi
Tujia & Miao Autonomous Prefecture implemented a new mechanism to ensure
compulsory education. 480,000 pupils and students in the phase of rural
compulsory education in eight counties and cities were exempted from
tuition fees and incidental expenses. 190,000 poverty-stricken pupils and
students attained free textbooks, and boarders also received subsidy for
cost of living.
