Pure gold and silver commemorative coin issued

With the theme of 56 ethnic groups jointly celebrating their motherland's
56th birthday this year, "Collection of 56 Years--Pure Silver
Commemorative Coin with China's National Identity Pattern" was initially
issued in Beijing's Great Hall of the People on July 19, 2005. This is
the first set of pure gold and silver commemorative coins with most coins
ever issued by now. Circulation of this set of commemorative coins
includes 560 sets of gold coins and 5600 sets of silver coins. Each
national commemorative coin has recognized "national identity" of 56
ethnic groups.
