Paper-cutting artist wins first award

Wang Yuxi, a paper-cutting artist and farmer from Longjiang County of
Qiqihar, was showing his works to the audience on July 31. His work "Siji
He Yuan" (views of cranes' home in four seasons) won first award at the
first China "Xianhe (red-crowned crane) Cup" paper-cutting competition.
The paper-cut cards created by him have applied for a national patent.
Thirty-year-old Wang started to learn paper-cutting in 2000 and has
established a studio named Xinyue (new moon) for study and innovation of
folk arts.
