www.chinanews.cn 2006-04-18 17:29:37
Chinanews, Beijing, Apr. 18 C Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi on Monday said
that Chinese government had attached great importance to, and had made
great achievements in intellectual property rights protection. She urged
governments at various levels to continue their work in this regard in
future.
The Vice Premier, who is also Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC
Central Committee and head of the State Intellectual Property Rights
Protection Working Team, made the remarks after attending an exhibition
held in Beijing Monday on China's achievements in intellectual property
rights protection.
She said that the exhibition provided ample evidence to prove that
Chinese government had put a lot of efforts into intellectual property
rights protection, and had achieved great results in the work.
Wu Yi said that in recent years, Chinese government had been working hard
in intellectual property rights protection. The efforts were
unprecedented and the achievement was great. However, she said, we should
keep in mind that intellectual property rights protection is a long-term
task, and we should view the task from a strategic point of view,
regarding IPR protection as part of our work of building an
innovation-oriented nation, and carry on our work with substantial
efforts in future.
The exhibition was kicked off Sunday at the Military Museum in Beijing.
It is the first time for China to organize such a large exhibition that
focuses on the country's IPR protection issue. The exhibition, which will
last for eight days, is organized by the State Intellectual Property
Rights Protection Working Team together with ten other state departments,
and undertaken by the State Intellectual Property Rights Protection
Working Team Office and the China Federation of Industrial Economics.
