Chinanews, March 15 - Beijing's cultural heritage protection authority
launched the most comprehensive and the most precise mapping for the
Great Wall, which is the first time in the history of the Great Wall, on
March 14.
Various high-tech methods are adopted for the mapping, which will also
cover some earthen and wild sections of the Great Wall.
Experts predict that the Beijing section of the Great Wall will be longer
than the result of the mapping conducted in 1984, namely 629 kilometers.
