North China stricken by sand storms

www.chinanews.cn 2006-04-12 17:02:44

The clear sky in Henan's Luoyang City was suddenly overwhelmed by flying
sands and stones, with over Force 7 strong wind making residents hard to
stand firm on Apr. 11. It was just like at dusk. The sands spread from
the west to the east, and soon turned the city into a scene of "eventide"
at around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Pedestrians were so unprepared that
they hurried to cover their mouths and noses with clothes.
