Navy on Xisha Islands set free young turtle

www.chinanews.cn 2005-07-06 15:22:48

In early July, three soldiers stationed on the Xisha Islands set free a
young turtle on the picturesque beach of Zhongjian Island. They
discovered the turtle several days ago when patrolling on the beach. It
was slightly injured and trapped on the beach on the ebb. The soldiers
took the turtle back to their barracks and took good care of it. When it
recovered, they sent it back to the vast South China Sea. Soldiers on the
islands set off about 10 turtles of various types every year.
