www.chinanews.cn 2006-04-10 14:13:39
A family ethnic museum built by Zhang Hongyu, a woman of Miao minority
group, opened to the public in a commercial residential building in
Guizhou's Kaili City on Apr. 7. Composed of a 320-square-meter house, the
family museum exhibits 1,000-odd ethnic costumes and articles of Miao,
Dong, Buyi and Yi minority groups. The most ancient exhibit dated back to
nearly 1,000 years ago, and many are ethnic elaborate works and treasures
valued at five-digit US dollars. Zhang hoped that these rare ethnic
treasures would not get lost to foreign countries.
