A force 6 sandy spring wind incessantly swept across the Kirqin Grassland
in Inner Mongolia around nightfall on Feb. 20, and Tongliao City was
covered with sand and dust. The sandy weather still prevailed by 15:00 on
the next day. Part of Shanxi, Henan, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Ningxia and
Gansu witnessed blown sand and sandy weather, and a small part was even
hit by sand and dust storms. According to experts with the Central
Meteorological Office, this wave of sandy weather is of a considerable
