Pupils, dressed in Miao ethnic costumes, of Xijiang primary school in
Qiandongnan (southeast Guizhou) Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of
Guizhou Province came to school on Mar. 23. In order to preserve and
promote ethnic culture, the school encouraged its 700-odd pupils to go to
school in Miao ethnic embroidered costumes made by their parents starting
from this spring semester. It is learnt that Miao villages win global
reputation for grand multi-layer suspended wooden houses, ethnic apparels
with bright colors and beautiful patterns, and rich ethnic customs.
