Chinanews, Shanghai, Mar.23 (By Li Jiajia) - It started without anyone
remembering when, but the phrase "Have you blogged today?" has become the
most fashionable topic today amongst Shanghai's white collar workers
during their moments of leisure.
According to surveys conducted in the four cities of Beijing, Shanghai,
Guangzhou and Shenzhen regarding white collar workers, 80% of those
surveyed already have or are about to have their own blog sites. They
update their blogs on average every three days. What is normally regarded
as personal and private topics such as feelings, viewpoints and life
often appear in white-collar blogs. Up to 67% of white collar bloggers
claim to like to unveil their privacy online.
According to surveys, the current white-collar bloggers belong to three
categories: the first type describes their views on life, the second
revolves around subjects of interest to them and the third focuses on
their views on certain phenomena or events. Of these three types,
Shanghai's white collars are more inclined to describe their
individualistic personal lives that differ from others.
Experts claim that the popularity of blogs not only leads to changes in
the ways people receive information, more and more bloggers have
attracted the attention of the commercial world. At present, the 16
million Chinese bloggers signify an enormous fortune for investors. But
due to various loopholes concerning the administration of bloggers, the
commercialization of blogs remains in an exploratory stage.
