Old farmer painted facial make-up on gourds

Xin Fuchun, a farmer of Jiangzhuang Village, Dabu Township, Yanggu
County, Shandong, was painting Beijing Opera facial make-up on a gourd on
August 4, 2005. Since this July, he has painted more than 100 types of
elaborate and ingenious Beijing Opera facial make-up on gourds. The
63-year-old man is fond of carving and painting since he was a child and
is proficient at painting on gourds. Many of his works have been bought
by collectors.
