The Tourism Administration of Chongqing's Liangping County revealed that
about 400 Ming Dynasty (1368AD-1644AD) stone Buddhas were discovered in
Tiemen Township in the county on July 21. These stone Buddhas were found
amongst the wild grass and trees when the Tourism Administration and
Cultural Relic Management Institute of Liangping County were
investigating the relic of the Octagon Palace Temple in Tiemen Township.
The stone Buddhas were two meters at the highest and 20 to 30 centimeters
at the lowest. Pictured, ancient stone Buddhas are still standing erect
among the grass.
