Fascinating ancient houses in snow

www.chinanews.cn 2006-03-15 15:51:36

A heavy snow in early spring decorated ancient residential houses at Yan
Village in Jiangxi's Wuyuan County, creating a fascinating scene. The
village was built during the reign of Emperor Yuanfeng (1078-1085 AD) of
the Northern Song Dynasty. Now it has 56 private schools built in the
Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) and residential houses built in the Qing
Dynasty (1616-1911 AD), most of which were built by famous Anhui
merchants to spend their late years in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
