New classrooms put into use

A new three-storey teaching building more than 560 square meters in area,
which was built with the help of the People's Congress and Discipline
Inspection Commission of Henan's Shaoyang County, was put into use at
Shilian Primary School on Feb. 14. Smile can be seen on every pupil's
face because they will no longer have class in tumbledown houses. There
are 110-odd tumbledown buildings in rural primary and middle schools in
Shaoyang County. In 2005, more than 7,000 students had to have classes in
houses which were rented from farmers. Those 110-odd tumbledown teaching
buildings will be reconstructed within 2006.
